Getting
To Yosemite by Car
The Redwoods In Yosemite is located in the southern area of Yosemite National Park off Highway 41 in the community of Wawona. We recommend that you obtain a detailed California road map as you plan your road trip to Yosemite, and/or that you follow our driving directions below. GPS vehicle navigation systems and computer mapping programs may include Chowchilla Mountain Road in their most direct routes to Wawona. Chowchilla Mountain Road is not a safe route, as it is a dirt road that is not improved, maintained, or patrolled. It requires a high clearance four-wheel drive vehicle during our dry summer months, and is frequently impassable during our snowy winter months.
